The works involved the safe removal and disposal of damaged units and installation of new high-performance laminated glazing, all executed after hours with high-access safety protocols in place.

Scope of Work:

  • Removal and disposal of 2 broken double-glazed roof units
  • After-hours work to minimise site disruption
  • Supply and install new skylight panels (2x units at 4230mm x 1435mm)
  • High-access lifting coordinated with a vacuum lifter and a mini crane system

Engineered Skylight Glazing

Each panel was built from a dual-laminated specification, designed for both impact safety and solar performance:

  • Top Layer: 13.52mm Green Heat-Strengthened PVB Laminate
  • Air Space
  • Bottom Layer: 13.52mm Clear Low E Heat-Strengthened PVB Laminate

This build provides a combination of thermal control, visible light transmission, and strength suitable for elevated architectural glazing.

Night-Time, High-Access Execution

All work was completed after hours using:

  • A mini crane for safe lifting in a restricted space
  • A vacuum lifter for millimetre-accurate placement
  • Secure rooftop access and harnessed team operation
  • Strategic installation without impacting retail trading hours

All glass used meets or exceeds AS1288 Australian Standards and is fully compliant with AGGWA (Australian Glass & Glazing Association) requirements for overhead and architectural installations.
